The World of Tomorrow IV: Global Warming
By ArtDiNova
Dimensions: Acrylic painting 142 x 80 cm
+ its digital version on the screen of your choice.

The artwork will be exhibited at the Grand Palais from February 19 to 22, 2025.

"The World of Tomorrow IV: Global Warming" is an immersive and visionary work that explores the global impacts of climate change through art and technology. This unique creation consists of two complementary elements, merging traditional and digital art to provide you with artistic ubiquity:

  1. The Painting – An oil-painted world map, in which 50 strategically placed LEDs are embedded on the capitals of the five continents. These LEDs display the current temperatures of each country in real-time, offering a dynamic and interactive visualization of our ever-changing climate.
  2. The Digital Projection – An HDMI output allows the artwork to be displayed in real-time on a large screen, thus providing an immersive and dematerialized experience. Thanks to this digital extension, the artwork becomes simultaneously accessible in multiple locations, providing an artistic ubiquity that transcends the physical limits of the painting.

The digital artwork also features a loan or rental option, allowing galleries, institutions, or events to exhibit the artwork outside of your personal space. Thus, you can continue to enjoy the painted artwork at home while sharing its digital version with a wider audience.

The LEDs use a color code system to illustrate temperature variations: from deep blues for the coldest areas, to fiery reds for extreme heat. This play of light and color allows for an immediate visualization of climate disparities across the globe, strongly highlighting the vulnerability of our planet to global warming.

The display offers a captivating visual composition. The textured and vibrant continents contrast with the surrounding elements: industrial and metallic infrastructures evoke the pressure exerted by industrialization, while the mountains and oceans remind us of the Earth's raw and fragile beauty.

The interaction between the luminous LEDs and the darkness surrounding the map reinforces the urgency of the subject. The light then becomes a symbol of alert and hope, highlighting the impact of inaction in the face of environmental challenges.

"The World of Tomorrow IV: Climate Change" is part of an artistic approach that transcends traditional boundaries. Through its dual existence, physical and digital, this artwork invites viewers to contemplate the state of our world, to feel the climate urgency, and to reflect on our collective responsibility regarding environmental issues.

Much more than a simple cartographic representation, this work is a technological and artistic manifesto, a bridge between science and emotion, where every light and every detail carries a message of alert and hope for the future.
